Tempo Drop is based on a weather forecasting device, called a storm glass, which was used by navigators in the 19th century. They were made by sealing camphor tree extract and ethanol in a glass container, and were used for navigation by observing the crystals that reacted to changes in temperature. One was also installed on the Nautilus in Jules Verne's novel "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea." With the subsequent development of science, it has become clear that the actual phenomenon of crystallization is still a mystery, and the details are still under study. Although it is difficult to put it to practical use as a weather forecast machine in this day and age, please enjoy the daily changes of crystals with Tempo Drop just as the scenery changes with the seasons.
